A City In The Forest

A Feature Length Documentary

In Atlanta, a diverse protest movement defends an urban forest from Cop City, a plan for the country's largest police training facility. A City in the Forest film paints a prismatic portrait of the country’s most urgent social justice story, where a web of land defenders, police abolitionists, and climate justice activists fight back against police murder, militarization, and an unrelenting corporate lobby.

The film’s visual approach takes on a quilt like texture which mirrors the movement itself; decentralized, and full of various perspectives. Blending various hi-fi and lo-fi mediums - everything from digital 6k to 16mm film— embracing variable aspect ratios and layered frames, including the use of 35mm still photography.
